How Much Phosphorus Uptake Is Required for Achieving Maximum Maize Grain Yield? Part 1: Luxury Consumption and Implications for Yield

چکیده

Development of a more precise and process-based tool for making phosphorus (P) recommendations requires detailed understanding plant P uptake needs. Future adaptation nutrient model this purpose must utilize mass-balance approach. The objectives study were to determine the minimum mass required achieving maximum grain yield maize evaluate partitioning over range uptake. Three hybrids grown under optimal conditions using sand-culture hydroponics control root environment. Plants maturity with six different concentrations followed by biomass analysis various parts. Phosphorus occurred in three phases two steps luxury consumption; (i) increased total until was attained at 580 mg uptake, (ii) further increase 730 but decrease yield; (iii) additional little no continued yield. Luxury consumption implies that excess fertility is an economic drag production.
